  • The Oodnadatta Racing and Horse Sports Club committee including:

    - President

    - Vice President

    - Secretary

    - Treasurer

    - Publicity Officer

    - Members

    • Are responsible for ensuring that the Volunteer Policy is effectively implemented throughout the organisation.

    • Induct volunteers as per Induction Policy.

    • Volunteers in their area of control are consulted about issues affecting their health and safety.

    • Are to ensure prompt action is taken to eliminate unsafe or unhealthy conditions or behaviour.

    • Are to ensure volunteers are working in a safe manner where and whenever possible.

    • Should promptly report any identified risks to a member of the Executive Committee

    or any person authorised to remedy the problem.

    • Refer any health or safety concerns to the Executive Committee.

    • All attendees are to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others.

    • To co-operate and comply with the Clubs Policies.

    • Promptly report all incidents, accidents, illnesses and any risks to health and safety.

  • • Individuals who offer assistance to the Club must complete the appropriate documentation.

    • Assessment of the suitability of an individual for a specific role will be undertaken by a member of the committee.

    • Attendees are expected to work in a constructive and co-operative manner.

    • Attendees must comply with Club policies

    • All attendees are required to lodge any official complaints or compliance issues

    through the Committee in accordance with the Complaints Procedure.

    • Volunteers will be nominated by the Committee for major recognition awards and/or rewards.

    • If deemed appropriate by the Committee, Officials will be requested to wear Official Identification.

  • The Oodnadatta Racing and Horse Sports Club does not tolerate bad behaviour from our Committee members, Competitors, Parents and Spectators. Any bad behaviour will be dealt with immediately. The Committee will first try and deal with the situation and or the person/people involved, if the behaviour continues, they will then be asked to leave the venue. If the situation and or person/people involved will not leave after being asked, we will then seek the help of the Police.

  • This Policy will be reviewed at the annual review meeting and any issues raised or changes to be made will be identified and entered to the action list for attention.
